BrowneThe Browne CT84031 - Candy/Jelly/Deep Fry Thermometer measures 4-7/8 inches wide by 1-1/4 inches high for easy use and visibility while cooking. It has a dual face for easy and efficient use in high volume applications. It is designed for use in temperatures between 100 degrees F to 400 degrees F. This thermometer has a very thin and long shape and is most often used when making hard and soft candy such as brittle, pralines, toffee, fudge and more. While proteins like chicken and steak are typically cooked between 130 degrees F to 175 degrees F, candy requires cooking sugar at higher temperatures of 300 degrees F, and deep-frying requires hot oil temperatures at 375 degrees F. The thermometer is dishwasher safe for fast and easy cleaning.
